The extension and website work together
Live translation, floating captions, hover translation and word or phrase lookup are available in the Chrome extension. Saved vocabulary review and English learning from YouTube links run on the ThomLingo website.

Clear choices about your data
Words are saved only when you choose to save them. Live transcript saving is off by default. Shared live audio is processed by Soniox; a ThomLingo plan and Soniox usage are separate. Read the privacy policy for how account data, translation and transcript storage work.

What does ThomLingo do?
ThomLingo provides live audio translation in Chrome, quick word and phrase lookup with saved vocabulary, and English learning from YouTube videos on its website.
Is YouTube learning inside the extension?
No. Paste a YouTube link on the ThomLingo website. This learning feature uses available English captions, lets you replay lines and translate sentences, and helps you save vocabulary with its video context.
Is ThomLingo only for Vietnamese speakers?
No. The interface supports English and Vietnamese. Word lookup and live translation support the language pairs available in each feature; YouTube learning currently focuses on English.
How do live translation and Soniox work together?
New accounts receive a one-time 5-minute trial. Continued Soniox-powered live translation requires your own Soniox API key and is subject to your ThomLingo plan limits. Soniox usage fees and provider limits apply separately.
