How to use it

  1. Open Listening practice and paste an English YouTube video link.
  2. Wait for available captions to load, then play the video.
  3. Tap words, translate a sentence when needed or replay a line.
  4. Save words you want to learn and review them in your vocabulary notebook.

Follow a transcript alongside your video

Paste a YouTube link. ThomLingo retrieves available English captions and displays timed lines. The current import flow supports videos up to 90 minutes; not every video has an accessible transcript.

Look up a word or translate a sentence

Tap a word, select a phrase or translate a sentence in the transcript. Only the content you choose to translate is sent to a translation service. Hide the transcript to listen first and reveal it when you need support.

Replay the part you want to understand

Use a timestamp to return to a line, adjust playback speed or loop the current sentence. Replaying a line lets you connect what you hear with the words you read.

Keep vocabulary with its context

Save words from a video for later review. Video sources and timestamps help you revisit where you encountered each word. When signed in, your listening position is saved so you can continue next time.

Before you get started
